Well. The season premiere of My Little Pony was...underwhelming in the villain department, to say the least. Big bad had a minute of screentime and most of that was EEEEEVIL laughter. Spooky!

The guy's growing on me, though. Imagining him being able to only say three words has kinda upped the charm of his character.

Don't make fun of his speech impediment. It's a serious problem. You know the only reason the Crystal Empire turned into a dark despotate was because of confusion between his orders and misinterpretation of what he actually wanted.

When your king can only say Crystals & Slaves and then everything else comes out as manical laughter and evil roars of course you're going to think he means become downtrodden, broken slaves and toil in his gem mines.

All it took was one proposal speech for a tax reform and suddenly the people are chaining themselves together, the sky has been turned black, the palace is redecorated with evil black diamond spikes and the rulers of the neighbouring country are invading in order to overthrow you.

No kidding, King Sombra was underwhelming! Probably the most boring of the MLP antagonists thus far...but I STILL like him far better that that jerkhead Prince Blueblood! Royal bastard...
