I'm still poking through older pieces that never made their way to dA, so here's another that I still like! Pencil and digital coloring. It was made as the cover for an unfinished/to-be-rebooted ArtSlam project that feature a manticore, a magic sword, and a wise man. Kinda meant for it to have a European fairy tale feel to contrast the West Asia/Middle East settings, and ultimately, that was what led to me discontinuing it; I hadn't done enough research and didn't spend much time worldbuilding, so it's dropped until I can find time to do it justice. As you can see from the image text, it was meant to be fairly large-scale, and quite impractical for AS.
There was a LOT of fun research, though, because a ton of mythology was going to be used in there. And one of the main characters is a manticore so of course I spent a buttload of time reading about regional legends
and drawing him in festive cat sweaters.
But yeah! Fun project, not enough time. Good practice, though. Actually gonna submit this under the traditional category, because 95% of it's pencil work and the color took like ten minutes.
